A friend of mine showed me this page which is Virgin Money Giving’s attempt to compare online charitable giving sites. Obviously, being a marketing exercise, VMG has left out many of the features that they don’t have and focussed on the ones that they do have. I thought I would compile my own and invite other fundraisers to add categories that are important to them. I’ll try to keep this as up to date and transparent as possible so if any of the other online donation sites want to be included they can of course and if they have any features they want to highlight then drop something in the comments section.
So, fundraisers, please share what features you’d like to see on fundraising sites so we can compare who has the features you want.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing this – spotted it on http://www.thirdsectorforums.co.uk
I’ll get the link to your comparison chart added to my blog.
Hey Simon – thanks for sharing.
One thing on “Twitter and blog on fundraising pages” – you can do this via JustGiving fundraising pages. There is a tweet button and a share (blogger, email etc) button on each page. Was that what you were referring to?
Cheers, Jamie, I’ve updated now.
The charity I’ve just started working with – Essex Boys and Girls Clubs (www.essexboysandgirlsclubs.org) – had a JustGiving account for a few months last year for a specific event and I’m now establishing whether to set one up again or use an alternative. This is therefore a really useful chart – thank you!
